It’s Been Awhile…

It’s been awhile since I’ve done the things I should
Instead I spend my days slumping in misery
Underneath a hooded mask
Hiding from myself as the world watches me shake,
Or so I think
I wrap myself in blankets blocking out shadowed memories
It keeps me locked, confined to a dwelling I never wanted
Or do I?
What burning questions surface every time I take a breath
Emotions run deep and I run away with them to escape
Only to suffer captivity
So I perpetually rest in worry
